Kutch Mahila Vikas Sangathan

Kutch Mahila Vikas Sangathan (KMVS) formed in 1989 is a vibrant and dynamic organization and one that is evolving to address the emerging challenges. Initially the architects of KMVS felt the need to combine economic development with gender justice, to address poverty and issues of patriarchy that perpetuate violence and discrimination against women.
Starting as an organization of crafts women, it has gradually moved on to other address areas impacting women’s lives. While still addressing handicrafts, savings and credit, health, education, natural resource management and leadership in its areas of work, more recently the underlining thrust of KMVS, has been to strengthen and build a vibrant cadre of strong Mahila Sarpanchs and EWLs who will improve local governance and address the concerns of marginalized.
