Realizing the needs of building collective forums for EWRs, Sushasini formed block level ‘Manch’ which carried activities like capacity building and enabling women to govern their panchayats in transparent and gender just manner. The block level Manch are formed in 6 blocks- Nakhtrana, Mundra, Bhuj, Mandvi, Abdasa and Lakhpat. With each round of Panchayat elections, the manch associates with newly elected EWRs and builds their capacities in local self governance. The manch, now has around 1400 members comprising of EWRs, Ex-EWRs and potential leaders from villages.
Having a manch had been beneficial, but a district level forum was needed to advocate for collective issues like Sarpnach honorarium, ineffectiveness of Talatis and other critical issues faced by EWRs. With this objective, ‘Gramshasini’ was launched in 2010.
